750 pages. After the two BPhO books, this is a new high-water mark. Every PhysicsBowl problem from 2010 through 2024, fully worked, categorised by topic, with step-by-step solutions that actually explain the reasoning rather than just landing on the answer.

Why this book exists

PhysicsBowl is one of the most important high-school physics competitions for students targeting US college applications. The official answer key provides letter answers only — no steps, no reasoning. Students are left knowing whether they got it right but not why, which makes systematic improvement nearly impossible.

This guide covers every problem from 2010 to 2024 with detailed, step-by-step solutions. Each solution explains the physical reasoning behind the approach, not just the algebra. Problems are grouped by topic so targeted revision is actually possible.

Structure

The book is organised by the PhysicsBowl topic distribution: classical mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity and magnetism, optics, and modern physics. Within each section, problems are further grouped by subtopic and difficulty. The goal is to make the gap between "I memorised the formula" and "I understand the physics" as small as possible.

This is the most complete and most thoroughly annotated PhysicsBowl preparation resource currently available. To enquire about access, contact via email at the bottom of the page.
